In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 excusing or warning, 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 for an appointed time? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
