Do not the people who inherited the earth from the (earlier) inhabitants perceive that We could afflict them too for their sins if We pleased, and put seals on their hearts that they may not hear (the voice of truth)? 100 Those townships! We recount unto thee some tidings thereof. Assuredly there came unto them their apostles with evidences, but they were not such as to believe that which they had erst belied. Thus doth Allah put a seal upon the hearts of the infidels. 101 We did not find most of them true to their covenants; indeed We found most of them to be transgressors. 102 After those We sent forth Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his assembly, but with it they harmed. Look at the end of the corrupters. 103 And Musa said: O Firon! surely I am an apostle from the Lord of the worlds: 104 And it behoves me to say nothing about Allah except what is true. I have come to you with a clear sign of having been sent from your Lord. So let the Children of Israel go with me.' 105 [Pharaoh] said, "If you come with a sign, then produce it, if you are telling the truth." 106 Thereupon he cast down his rod, when, lo it was a serpent manifest. 107 And he drew out his hand, and behold! it was white to all beholders! 108
