Al-Najm 3 of 3
HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
