Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In a lofty garden, 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
