The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
