Seest thou one who turns back, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
