Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The craving for excess wealth kept you people neglectful. 1 Until ye visit the graves. 2 Lo! presently ye shall know. 3 But you will soon come to know. 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 you would indeed, most surely, behold the blazing fire [of hell]! 6 You would see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then on that day you shall most certainly be questioned about the boons. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
