So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 he said: "Surely you are an unknown folk." 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 And we have come to you with the truth, and we are most surely truthful. 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 And [through Our messengers] We revealed unto him this decree: "The last remnant of those [sinners] shall be wiped out in the morn." 66 The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men). 67 Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not: 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They said: Have we not forbidden you from (other) people? 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By thy life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement, 72 Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise. 73 And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Surely! In this are signs, for those who see (or understand or learn the lessons from the Signs of Allah). 75 for, behold, those [towns] stood by a road that still exists. 76 Indeed in that is a sign for the believers. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
