In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 The Byzantians have been overcome. 2 In the nearer land, and they, after their defeat will be victorious 3 Within three to nine years. To Allah belongs the command before and after. And that day the believers will rejoice 4 in God's help; God helps whomsoever He will; and He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 5 It is a promise of God; and God does not go back on His promise. Yet most men do not understand: 6 They only know the superficial realities of the worldly life and they are unaware of the life to come. 7 Do they not reflect on themselves? Allah created the heavens and the earth and whatever lies between them in Truth and for an appointed term. Yet many people deny that they will meet their Lord. 8 What, have they never journeyed in the land and seen what was the end of those before them? They were stronger in might than themselves, and they plowed the land and cultivated it more than they themselves have cultivated it. And to them, their Messengers came with clear signs, and Allah did not wrong them, but they wronged themselves. 9 Then evil was the end of those who did evil, because they belied the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, Messengers, etc.) of Allah and made mock of them. 10

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
