And We indeed did a great favour to Moosa and Haroon. 114 We saved them and their people from great distress; 115 and succoured them, so that [in the end] it was they who achieved victory. 116 And We gave them the divine writ that made [right and wrong] distinct, 117 and guided them the straight way, 118 And We perpetuated (praise) to them among the later generations. 119 Peace be upon Moosa and Haroon! 120 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 121 They were two of Our believing servants. 122 AND, BEHOLD, Elijah [too] was indeed one of Our message-bearers 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not be mindful of God? 124 Will you invoke Baal and forsake [God,] the best of artisans 125 God, your Lord, and the Lord of your fathers?" 126 They denied him, and will surely be brought to punishment, 127 except the sincere servants of God. 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!" 130 In this way do We reward the righteous ones. 131 He was one of Our believing servants. 132 Verily Lot was one of the apostles, 133 When We delivered him and his followers, all-- 134 except for an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 135 and We destroyed the others. 136 and, verily, [to this day] you pass by the remnants of their dwellings at morning-time 137 And at night; do you not then understand? 138
