Hizb 46

Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Or did We make the angels females, and they witnessed it? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 What, will you not remember? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth. 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 "And we are verily those who declare (Allah's) glory!" 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
