Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
