The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And who glide with ease. 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 then he mustered 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
