The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And those who govern the event, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 and gathered his people together 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
