He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man had come in his august presence. 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 To him you attend; 6 Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And he feareth 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble, pious. 16 Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 Then doth He make His path smooth for him; 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 and thereupon We cause grain to grow out of it, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 And fruits and grasses: 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Dust shall cover them 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
