It is He who sends down to you out of heaven water of which you have to drink, and of which trees, for you to pasture your herds, 10 He causes to grow for you thereby the crops, olives, palm trees, grapevines, and from all the fruits. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought. 11 And He subjected the night and the day for you – and the sun and the moon; and the stars are subjected to His command; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect. 12 And other things of different shades has He produced on the earth for you. In this are signs for those who reflect. 13 And He it is Who has subjected the sea (to you), that you eat thereof fresh tender meat (i.e. fish), and that you bring forth out of it ornaments to wear. And you see the ships ploughing through it, that you may seek (thus) of His Bounty (by transporting the goods from place to place) and that you may be grateful. 14 And He has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it shift with you, and [made] rivers and roads, that you may be guided, 15 As well as many other signs, as by the stars (you) find direction. 16 Then is He who creates like one who does not create? So will you not be reminded? 17 For, were you to count the favours of Allah, you will not be able to count them. Surely Allah is Ever Forgiving, Most Merciful. 18 And Allah knows what you conceal and what you reveal. 19 But those whom you invoke, other than Allah do not create anything they are themselves created. 20 (They are) dead, lifeless, and they know not when they will be raised up. 21
