The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
