Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 therein uplifted couches 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 cushions ranged, 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
