Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
All praise is due to Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth and made the darkness and the light; yet those who disbelieve set up equals with their Lord. 1 He it is created you from clay, and then decreed a stated term (for you). And there is in His presence another determined term; yet ye doubt within yourselves! 2 He is God in the heavens and the earth; He knows your secrets, and what you publish, and He knows what you are earning. 3 Yet every time a sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord, they turn away from it. 4 Surely they have belied the truth when it came unto them; so presently there cometh unto them the tidings of that whereat they have been mocking. 5 Have they not seen how many generations We have destroyed before them whom We had established in the land in a way We never established you, sending down for them abundant water from the sky and made the rivers to flow underneath them? Yet because they sinned, We destroyed them and raised up other generations after them. 6 Even if We had sent you a transcript on paper which they could feel with their hands, the unbelievers would have said: "This is nothing but clear sorcery." 7 They have said, "Why has not an angel come to him (Muhammad)?" Had We sent an angel to them, the matter would have inevitably been out of their hands, and they would have been given no more time. 8 And had We made him an angel, We would still have made him a man, and We would have confounded for them that which they are confounding. 9 Messengers have been mocked before you, but those who scoffed were overtaken by the very thing they scoffed at. 10
