The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The time of reckoning has drawn near for mankind, yet they are heedless and turn away. 1 No recent revival of the remembrance comes to them from their Lord, except that they play with it as they listen 2 their hearts being set on other concerns. The wrong-doers whisper to one another: "This person is no more than a mortal like yourselves. Will you, then, be enchanted by sorcery while you see?" 3 The Lord said, "Tell them (Muhammad), 'My Lord knows all that is said in the heavens and the earth. He is All-hearing and All-knowing ". 4 They have said, "It, (the Quran), is only the result of some confused dreams. He is only a poet. He should show us some miracles, as the ancient Prophets had done." 5 Not a city before them which We destroyed believed; will they then believe? 6 The messengers We sent before you were but men whom We had sent revelations. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know this -- 7 nor did We fashion them as bodies that ate not food, neither were they immortal; 8 Then We made Our promise good to them, so We delivered them and those whom We pleased, and We destroyed the extravagant. 9 We have bestowed upon you a Book that mentions you. Do you not understand? 10
