And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
