He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and then turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, 5 you attend to him, 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 NAY, VERILY, these [messages] are but a reminder: 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what did He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 We let the rain pour down in torrents 25 Then split the earth in clefts 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 And olives and date palms, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 and fruits and fodder 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 his mother and his father, 35 and his consort and his children; 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 but others will be gloomy 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
