The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 Unto an Awful Day, 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in Sijjin. 7 And what do you know, how the Sijjeen is! 8 it is a written record. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 Not at all - but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun, heights above the heights. 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 On couches face to face. 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 And admixture thereof will be Water of Tasnim: 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 So, the believers will laugh at the infidels on that day, 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
