The Comet (Al-Taareq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
