Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and goblets laid out, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
