The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
