Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning unto humankind 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 except those of the right hand 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 About the guilty: 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
