Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
