The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
