The Thamud accused the messengers of lies. 141 When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear God? 142 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 143 So fear Allah, and obey me. 144 I do not ask any recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 145 "Will you be left secure in that which you have here? 146 amidst gardens and springs 147 And tilled fields and heavy-sheathed palm-trees, 148 "And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill. 149 "But fear Allah and obey me; 150 Do not follow those who are extravagant, 151 Who make mischief in the land and do not act aright. 152 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 153 You are only a human being like ourselves. Show us a sign, if you are telling the truth." 154 Replied he: "This she-camel shall have a share of water, and you shall have a share of water, on the days appointed [therefor]; 155 And touch her not with ill lest there come on you the retribution of an awful day. 156 They slew the she-camel, but later became regretful 157 The punishment therefore seized them; indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 158 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 159

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
