The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
