The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And who glide with ease. 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
