Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 and a large group of those of later times. 40 And those on the Left Hand Who will be those on the Left Hand? 41 In fierce hot wind and boiling water, 42 And the shade of black smoke. 43 Neither cool nor pleasant. 44 They had been affluent before, 45 And they persisted in the great violation. 46 And they used to say: What! when we die and have become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised? 47 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 48 Say: "Verily, those of olden times and those of later times 49 will be brought together for an appointment on an appointed day. 50 Then you people who had gone astray and rejected the Truth 51 "Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum. 52 and you shall fill therewith your bellies 53 And drinking on top of it from scalding water 54 like a thirsty camel". 55 This shall be their hospitality on the Day of Doom. 56 We have created you: why then do you not accept the truth? 57 Have you thought about [the semen] that you discharge -- 58 Did you create it or was it We who created it? 59 It is We who have ordained death for all of you; and We cannot be prevented 60 In the matter of exchanging you for others, and to transform you into what you do not know. 61 You have known the first growth; so why will you not remember? 62 Have you seen what you sow? 63 Do you give it its increase, or are We the giver? 64 If We willed, We verily could make it chaff, then would ye cease not to exclaim: 65 (Saying): "We are indeed Mughramun (i.e. ruined or lost the money without any profit, or punished by the loss of all that we spend for cultivation, etc.)! [See Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, Vol. 17, Page 219] 66 Surely, we have been deprived (of the benefits)". 67 Have you thought about the water you drink? 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds or We? 69 If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful? 70 Have you considered the fire you kindle? 71 Did you produce the tree that serves as fuel or do We? 72 We have made it as a reminder and convenience for the needy. 73 Extol, then, the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's mighty name! 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
