The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn, 2 Thy Lord magnify, 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 And all defilement shun! 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant! 7 Then when the horn shall be blown, 8 Surely that day will be a day of anguish, 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 And gave him abundant wealth 12 and sons to be by his side, 13 I made things smooth and easy for him, 14 Yet he desireth that I should give more. 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 Ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 19 What an evil plan he has made! 20 Then he looked around, 21 Then frowned he and showed displeasure. 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 And said, “This is nothing but magic learnt from earlier men.” 24 "This is nothing but the word of a human being!" 25 Anon shall I roast him into the Scorching Fire. 26 What do you think Hell-fire is? 27 It spares nothing; it leaves nothing intact; 28 Blackening the skins. 29 over it are nineteen. 30 We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire. We have specified their number only as a trial for those who are bent on denying the truth, so that those who were given the Book might gain in certainty, and those who believe might increase in faith -- and so that neither those who have been given the Scripture nor the believers might have any doubts, and that those sick at heart and those who deny the truth might ask, "What does God mean by this parable?" In this way, God lets go astray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. And none knows the forces of your Lord but He. This is but a Reminder for man. 31
