The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
