And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 Do they help or harm you?" 73 They said, "In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise." 74 He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient sires. 76 "For they are enemies to me; not so the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds; 77 who created me. It is He who guides me; 78 He who gives me food and drink; 79 and heals me when I am sick. 80 "And He will give me death, then resurrect me." 81 "And the One Who, upon Whom I pin my hopes, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgement." 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 And make me of the heirs of the garden of bliss 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 Do not betray me 87 The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children 88 Except him who comes to Allah with a heart free (from evil). 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 So they shall be thrown down into it, they and the erring ones, 94 and so too the hosts of Iblis, all of them. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 when we deemed you [false deities] equal to the Sustainer of all the worlds 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 nor do we have a truly sincere friend. 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
