And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 (The command was given:) "Strike with thy foot: here is (water) wherein to wash, cool and refreshing, and (water) to drink." 42 We gave him back his family and doubled their number as a blessing from Us and as a reminder to the people of understanding. 43 And take in your hand a green branch and beat her with It and do not break your oath; surely We found him patient; most excellent the servant! Surely he was frequent in returning (to Allah). 44 And remember Our servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - those of strength and [religious] vision. 45 Verily We exalted them in consideration of a sterling quality: their remembrance of the Abode of the Hereafter. 46 and in Our sight they are of the chosen, the excellent. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. Every one of them is among the best. 48 LET [all] this be a reminder [to those who believe in God] - for, verily, the most beauteous of all goals awaits the God-conscious: 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 Reclining within them, they will call therein for abundant fruit and drink. 51 ۞ And with them shall be those restraining their eyes, equals in age. 52 All this is what you are promised for the Day of Judgement. 53 Verily this is Our provision: there will be no ceasing thereof. 54 But the arrogant will have the worst return: 55 Hell!- they will burn therein, - an evil bed (indeed, to lie on)!- 56 This is for the criminals – so that they may taste it – boiling hot water and pus. 57 and other such torments. 58 Here is an army rushing blindly with you. (Those who are already in the Fire say): No word of welcome for them. Lo! they will roast at the Fire. 59 (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!" 60 They will say: our Lord! whosever hath brought this upon us, unto him increase doubly the torment of the Fire. 61 And they will add: "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we were wont to count among the wicked, 62 [and] whom we made the target of our derision? Or is it that [they are here, and] our eyes have missed them?" 63 All this is certainly true -- the inhabitants of the Fire will blame one another in this way. 64
