In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 for an appointed time? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
