Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 until you visit the graves. 2 No indeed; but soon you shall know. 3 Again, no indeed, you shall soon know. 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 You will surely see the Hellfire. 6 Again, you shall surely see it with the sight of certainty. 7 Then on that day you shall most certainly be questioned about the boons. 8
