Muhammad (Muhammad)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Those who disbelieve and bar from the way of Allah, Allah will cause their deeds go astray. 1 As for those who attained to faith and did righteous works and believed in what was revealed to Muhammad -- which indeed is the Truth from their Lord -- Allah has remitted their evil deeds and has set their condition right. 2 This is because the unbelievers follow falsehood while the believers follow the truth from their Lord. As such Allah sets forth for people their examples. 3 So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners, and afterwards either set them free as a favor or let them ransom (themselves) until the war terminates. That (shall be so); and if Allah had pleased He would certainly have exacted what is due from them, but that He may try some of you by means of others; and (as for) those who are slain in the way of Allah, He will by no means allow their deeds to perish. 4 Soon will He guide them and improve their condition, 5 and He will admit them to Paradise, that He has made known to them. 6 Believers, if you aid Allah, He will come to your aid and will plant your feet firmly. 7 And those who disbelieve, downfall shall be theirs, and He shall send astray their works. 8 That is because they disliked what Allah revealed, so He rendered worthless their deeds. 9 ۞ Have they never journeyed through the land and seen what was the end of those who had gone before them? Allah destroyed them! Likewise it is for the unbelievers, 10 That is because God is the Protector of the believers, and that the unbelievers have no protector. 11
