The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
