The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Behold, [in his earthly life] he lived joyfully among people of his own kind 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
