The Embryo (Al-Alaq)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 or orders piety? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
