Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And We let it remain upon him in the latter: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And [one day,] when [the child] had become old enough to share in his [father's] endeavours, the latter said: "O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice thee: consider, then, what would be thy view!" [Ishmael] answered: "O my father! Do as thou art bidden: thou wilt find me, if God so wills, among those who are patient in adversity!" 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 Salamun (peace) be upon Ibrahim (Abraham)!" 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
