Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 for an appointed term? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 The living and the dead, 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
