The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
