Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, who created the heavens and the earth and made the darkness and the light. Then those who disbelieve equate [others] with their Lord. 1 He it is Who hath created you from clay, and hath decreed a term for you. A term is fixed with Him. Yet still ye doubt! 2 And He it is Who is One True God in the heavens and in the earth. He knows your deeds - both secret and open - and knows fully whatever you earn. 3 Yet every time a sign of their Lord comes to them, they turn away from it, 4 And they denied the truth when it came unto them. But there will come unto them the tidings of that which they used to deride. 5 Do they not consider how many a generation We have destroyed before them, whom We had established in the earth as We have not established you, and We sent the clouds pouring rain on them in abundance, and We made the rivers to flow beneath them, then We destroyed them on account of their faults and raised up after them another generation. 6 Had we sent down unto thee (Muhammad) (actual) writing upon parchment, so that they could feel it with their hands, those who disbelieve would have said: This is naught else than mere magic. 7 They ask, "Why has an angel not been sent down to him?" If We did send down an angel, the matter would be settled and they would not have been granted any respite. 8 If We had made him an angel, We would have given him the resemblance of a man, and would have as such confused them with that in which they are already confused. 9 And certainly apostles before you were mocked at, but that which they mocked at encompassed the scoffers among them. 10
