The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 [And then he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Save me and my household from all that they are doing!" 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
