The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And accepts the best, 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
