Pilgrimage (Al-Hajj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ O men, fear your Lord! Surely the earthquake of the Hour is a mighty thing; 1 on the day when you behold it, every suckling woman shall neglect the child she has suckled, and every pregnant woman shall deposit her burden, and thou shalt see mankind drunk, yet they are not drunk, but God's chastisement is terrible. 2 And among men there is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge and follows every rebellious Shaitan; 3 although it is decreed about him that he shall lead into error whosoever takes him for a friend, and will direct him to the torment of the Fire. 4 O mankind! If you are in doubt about the Resurrection, then verily! We have created you (i.e. Adam) from dust, then from a Nutfah (mixed drops of male and female sexual discharge i.e. offspring of Adam), then from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood) then from a little lump of flesh, some formed and some unformed (miscarriage), that We may make (it) clear to you (i.e. to show you Our Power and Ability to do what We will). And We cause whom We will to remain in the wombs for an appointed term, then We bring you out as infants, then (give you growth) that you may reach your age of full strength. And among you there is he who dies (young), and among you there is he who is brought back to the miserable old age, so that he knows nothing after having known. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down water (rain) on it, it is stirred (to life), it swells and puts forth every lovely kind (of growth). 5 This is so, because Allah is the Reality: it is He Who gives life to the dead, and it is He Who has power over all things. 6 And because the hour is coming, there is no doubt about it; and because Allah shall raise up those who are in the graves. 7 Some dispute about Allah, though they have neither knowledge nor guidance, nor an illuminating Book. 8 Turning their backs that they may lead away from the path of God. For such there is disgrace in the world, and on the Day of Judgement We shall make them taste the torment of burning. 9 [and he shall be told:] "This is an outcome of what thine own hands have wrought - for, never does God do the least wrong to His creatures!" 10
